‘Tis the season!
Here is my go-to sugar cookie recipe for making all the classic seasonal cookies!
1 cup of butter softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
Mix butter, egg, vanilla, almond extract and powdered sugar in a mixer until completely combined.
Blend in flour, soda and cream of tartar. wrap in plastic and chill for approximately 4 hours.
Preheat oven 375F°
Divide dough in half and roll each half 3/16 thick on a floured surface.
Cut into desired shapes and place 2” apart on lined baking sheet. I prefer Silpat.
Bake 8 minutes or until edges begin to LIGHTLY brown.
