SPRING CHILL TIME MUSIC, PODCASTS & BOOKS
Embracing the longer early morning sunrise walks and warm evenings with a good book, podcast and music. 🧡 Would love to know what you are reading and listening to🧡
Music
I have my favorite artists that are on my go-to Spotify list but always love adding to the collection. Here are a few of my latest:
Zac Bryan: Love the lyrics, his voice and find it the perfect music while I am cooking, playing in the garden or just chilling with friends and family. My son Ryan introduced me to this Artist.

Oldie but a favorite “Indigo Girls”

Podcasts

Peter Attia~ the Drive – love! And a must is to download his book “Outlive”.
Amazing wealth of onsite on health, fitness and overall wellbeing.

Yes, it is Spring and I am living in my garden! So many amazing podcasts on gardening, homesteading, and companion planting. So much for me to learn now living in Asheville with 2000 foot elevation, deer, rabbits, and chances of frost in April. So I’m loving the challenge and excited to see what is successful in my newly built raised planters. Here are just a few podcasts I have embraced and loved. FYI – did you know if you have free-range chickens in your garden you can be tick-free! Maybe a chicken coop next year🐓

Books
Having a bookworm like my husband Michael has really gotten me to do a lot more chill time with a good book. We have decided to pick up a book after dinner vs. watching a series on TV. Much more relaxing for the mind and body. We do sleep so much better! A few of my favorites vary from biographies to food. Yes I do find reading cookbooks relaxing.
THE NOURISHING ASIAN KITCHEN
I recently attended a 2-day Orangic Gardening Seminar that was absolutely amazing!!! I filled pages in my garden journal with so much incredible content. One of the many special treats at the seminar was the local growers, artisans, and connecting with community. One of my favorites was Joy and Jolie booth where two adorable young girls were so anxious to educate me about their most amazing herbal healing salves. Their story is amazing! As is the salve!

THE COVENANT OF WATER by Abraham Vergese
All I can say is WOW! It was around page 80 I totally got immersed in this 715 page novel. It tells the story of an Indian Malayali family living in southwest India living in the town of Parambil. The basis of the story is about a “condition” that runs in the family which is a drowning every generation that no one can explain and everyone prays a doctor will find a cure. Abraham Verghese’s storytelling is so captivating!

POSTCARD by Anne Berest
Page turner for sure! An autobiographical novel by the French author Anne Berest. I learned so much about the devastating history of the Holocaust in France. The book has been described as autobiographical while parts of it is based on fact. It is part family history, part mystery investigation, and part a search for Jewish Identity.
