Hayes Valley resonates many wonderful memories when I lived there in the 80’s working for ESPRIT.
Here are some my new and old favorites!
Zuni Café
A must! Founded by the late and wonderful Judy Rodgers. I miss that they are not open during the week for breakfast!
MAC – Modern Appealing Clothing
Owners Chris, Ben and their lovely mother, Jeri. MAC is the go-to fashion depot in San Francisco since 1980.
Love the Comme des Garcons Spring 2016 collection… an amazing curated assortment of such wonderful designers from Dries van Noten to Engineered Garments.
Gimme Shoes
Fashion from street to runway… always something new and unique!
Birch
Stunning flower shop with gorgeous gift cards and flower pots + vases.
Metier
Some of the most gorgeous modern and antique jewelry displayed so elegantly in this petite side street shop. Metier closed its Union Square doors in 2012, but about a year ago the brand resurfaced in the lovely Hayes District. Co-owners Sheri Evans and Trina Papina have employed the same antique dealers they had from their original shop. It is a jewelry art gallery! (You can find some of these treasures on their online store.)
