A few suggestions for the ultimate summer reading:
- Heroes of the Frontier by Dave Eggers
A wonderful and engaging novel about a mother and her two young children who rents an RV named Château and head on a journey through Alaskan wilderness. - Commonwealth by Ann Patchett
Love Ann Patchett! Commonwealth is a story, that takes place in Southern California, of how an unexpected romantic encounter changes two family lives. - The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
If you have not gotten around to this 2015 novel, you must! I could not put it down. The film rights were acquired by DreamWorks and is scheduled to be released in the Fall. The movies is directed by Tate Taylor and the starring actor is Emily Blunt. The story is about a 32 year old alcoholic struggling from a recent divorce. Her drinking has caused her to lose her job; she frequently binges and has blackouts. - The Immortal Irishman: The Irish Revolutionary Who Became an American Hero by Timothy Egan
A little more serious read by best selling author Timothy Egan. It is an epic story of one of the most fascinating and colorful Irishman in nineteenth-century America. - Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf
Kent Haru, who died a few years ago at the age of 71 was best known for his novel « Plainsong » (1999) Our Souls at Night was his last novel which I am looking forward to reading.
