I have taken a break from updating my blog and so happy to be back to writing, sharing stories, recipes, travels and inspiring you.
May was supposed to be my month of setting the bar and reaching higher. Personally, May was a tough month for me for so many reasons. Life has many mountains we need to climb and then reward ourselves when we reach the top. Once at the top, there is always another challenge ahead for us. For me, I’ve climbed a few challenging mountains in the past few months. May brought on some personal health challenges which were initially scary, but luckily, not as bad as it could have been. Last year I I found a rough, clear, rash spot on my left leg near my ankle. My first thought was it was eczema and I put cream on it thinking it would go away. On my most recent overall body check with the dermatologist, I showed her the spot. Immediately, she did a biopsy and the results were “carcinoma in situ”. I realized when I received the results of the biopsy, that this was the moment for me to set the bar and reach higher. To find the confidence to believe that I would find the best doctor to remove this carcinoma and that I would be OK. I recently had Mohs surgery to remove the cancer. It is a very common procedure that is very non-invasive and very successful.
My message is to be proactive and take action on anything you may question on your body or day-to-day health. If something changes, whether it be your mood, diet, weight or skin, take action to take care of yourself.
