With all the Oscar buzz around this movie and Scarlett Johansson, I thought to repost this from early November…
Last night I experienced a movie moment I have not felt in a long time. Granted I have really enjoyed some wonderful movies over the summer that have been moving and uplifting. What I look for in a movie is an engaging story, beautiful cinematography and artistic acting. The movie I saw last night met all of this and more. What movie was it? JoJo Rabbit. I laughed, cried and walked away with a feeling of gratefulness and appreciation on how the director Taika Waititi wrote and directed a satirical black comedy film. The film is based on a novel by Christine Leunens’s “Caging Skies. Oscar winning Michael Giacchimo provided the score which was amazing. Roman Griffin Davis, an English actor, plays JoJo and this is his first debut at the age of 11. Scarlett Johansson plays the role of JoJo’s mother amazingly.
