Now that we are entering Indian Summer in New York, I am craving dining in an outdoor environment that feels like your home garden. Starting my search I have found Home Restautrant and La Tarte Flambée. Both very different and equally fulfilled my hunger for that at-home feeling.
Home Restaurant NYC has an adorable garden restaurant in the West Village. It was established in 1993 as a farm-to-table restaurant, dedicated to showcasing locally raised and produced products from agriculturally rich and diverse regions of New York. The culinary team, run by chef Alexandre Ange from Paris, delivers a modern and seasonal menu that will leave you yearning to return. Chef Alexandre’s talents have led him to work for some of the extraordinary and elite chefs such as Joël Robuchon, Thomas Keller, Joshua Skenes and Daniel Boulud. This is for sure a special find in the back streets of New York.
La Tarte Flambée is a wonderful and casual Alsatian inspired restaurant in Murray Hill, founded by the most adorable couple Mathias and Amadine Peters. Their signature dish is tarte flambé, in the dialect of Alsace, flammekueche. My favorite tarte flambé is the Provencal:)
