I feel like I am not alone with the winter blues, extra weight and desire to work out. We for sure hit a wall this time of year, especially on the East Coast when you are not driven to be outdoors unless you live by a ski/snowboarding resort. It takes determination, commitment and creativity to maintain a balanced workout schedule.
I have found the following to be beneficial to me keeping a mental and physical balance living on the East Coast (I do miss my morning west coast surf sessions!):
- An evening and a morning 20 minute stretch incorporating some traditional yoga poses. It takes a commitment and you need to take a deep breath and just do it before bed and when you wake up in the morning. The reward is priceless. Try yoga at home – love YogaMinded.
- Add 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar with 8 ounces of water in the morning – first thing!
- No bread, no sugar and tons of water.
Summer is not far away 🙂
